Washington Square – Bellevue
The second of Bellevue’s new condo projects, Washington Square, developed Wasatch Development, is taking form on the north end of downtown Bellevue (map).
When complete, the $1.2 billion 10.5-acre super-block project will encompass four residential towers, a hotel/condo tower and an office tower making it one of the more ambitious developments in the greater Seattle area.
Currently, Washington Square is selling homes in Tower One and Tower Two (see photo). The towers feature open one-bedroom, one-bedroom, one + den, two-bedroom, two+den and three-level townhomes. The homes are priced from the $600,000s into the millions.
The 26 three-level townhomes surround the base of the towers and come with private 2-car garages, a private elevator and entertainment sized patio and decks. The townhomes are expected to be released for sale this May and will likely start at $1.2 million.
Tower One & Two amenities include: concierge, owners lounge with fully furnished kitchens, high efficiency heat pumps/air conditioning, landscaped courtyards, 8’10” to 9’10” ceiling heights and high-end finishes and appliances. View Tower Two’s amenities (PDF).
In the center of complex will be a 50,000 sq ft fitness and amenities center and a small dog park. Fees for the fitness center is anticipated to cost $30/mo, though residents can use the fitness room in Tower one at no charge. Homeowners dues is expected to be about $.37/sq ft, very reasonable for a project of this scale.
The complex will also include 150,000 sq ft of retail space featuring upscale grocer Zupan’s and El Gaucho Restaurant.
Ben, you’ve made the condo niche in this area an art form. My hats off to you.
Matt Hasselback as bought a place here. Should be a nice one.
Would be nice if they update their website mostly since it is close to having residents move in. My friends are interested in buying at Washington Square but the information about planning isn’t shared. If you don’t believe me, check out their web site and date of last entry!!!!
The retail part of their website is updated and I think they changed their floorplans for some of the units in Tower 2. But I agree, they should update the website more to encourage buyers confidence that things are moving along.
I think people will start to move into Tower 1 at the begining of the year!!
Is it true that Matt Hasselback is moving in, if so do you know what unit and or Tower?
Washington Sq. park will be a nice development when all done. I’m not a fan of the floor plans there and for comparable pricing Bellevue towers is alot better I feel. Although, the town homes seem impressive.
From the lack of communication it appears that phase 2 is all but gone. They even got rid of the page that had information regarding the hotel. I’m thinking the slower than expected sales and recession talk has cased the builder to delay phase 2 a while longer.
There is a bunch of new articles from a few weeks ago on their website newsroom. Allure Restaurant sounds interesting. Looks like it has replaced El Gaucho. http://www.washingtonsquareliving.com
Why hasn’t Washington Square updated their Website? I think they don’t have a plan for the rest of the block. They have changed the name from Washington Square to Horbach Plaza. A much smaller version without a doubt. Wasatch is keeping residents and future buyers in the dark and their vision is somewhat cloudy and unclear.
It’s still Washington Square. A part of the site is called Horbach Plaza, in honor of Eugene Horbach.
