901 Lenora – Denny Triangle
Across the street from 2200 Westlake is a proposal for a 400 feet tall residential tower at the SE corner of 9th & Lenora. The parcel is currently occupied by the Social Security Administration. For a comparison, the recently completed Cosmopolitan is 330 feet tall.
A 400 foot tower would be massive in that area of Denny Triangle which is primarily composed of low and mid-rise buildings. Though, it will go a long way towards revitalizing the district with new housing, business and retail opportunities.
400 FEET TALL? That is ridiculous! Keep us posted if they plan to go through with it. I can’t imagine who in the world would buy those if they are already having trouble selling at other places (Cosmopolitan, etc). I think that is the LAST thing that we need built. How about parks people? Build parks.
So far it’s only a proposal so who know if they will actually construct it.
Speaking of parks, this Sunday (9/16), the Friends of Denny Park is hosting a neighborhood party from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM featuring live music, food and activities for the kids. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the renovations to the park.
Additionally, Urban Dog Presence, a grass-roots organization looking at creating a dog park area at Denny Park will be providing information at the event.

Thanks for the info! I am actually handing out and posting flyers (fliers?) about that event. I hope that Denny Park becomes a great, clean, green space for us all to use someday soon! I plan to volunteer more of my time to this project.
I was wondering if anybody knows the developer on the proposed 901 Lenora project?
Michelle – looks like nothing will happen with this for awhile. There’s been no further action since Weber + Thompson filed a land use app. No mention on the app who the developer and/or financially responsible party is.
