LGBT+ Housing Initiative Program

Seattle Condos and Lofts is pleased to announce a partnership with the LGBT+ Housing Initiative.

The goal of the LGBT+ Housing Initiative is to assist & encourage LGBTQ+ homeownership and contribute to LGBTQ+ homeless youth programs in the US and Canada. The program is currently only available through the Keller Williams Rainbow Network of agents.

The LGBT+ Housing Initiative works similarly to the Homes for Heroes program. For Seattle metropolitan area LGBTQ+ home buyers and sellers, we will contribute 25% of our commission to the Initiative.

That 25% is then split between the Initiative and our clients, with 20% going back to the buyer or seller after closing while the Initiative will retain 5% for contributions to homeless LGBTQ+ youth programs.

Here are a couple of examples:

$500,000 Purchase with 3% Agent commission
Gross Agent Commission: 3%$15,000
Total Contribution to the Initiative: 25%$3,750
-- Net contribution to Initiative programs: 5%$750
-- Net amount given back to buyer or seller: 20%$3,000
$1,000,000 Purchase with 2.5% Agent Commission
Gross Agent commission: 2.5%$25,000
Total contribution to the Initiative: 25%$6,250
-- Net contribution to Initiative programs: 5%$1,250
-- Net amount given back to buyer or seller: 20%$5,000

The 20% of the contribution to you, the home buyer or seller, will be given within 10 days of closing. You can utilize the funds to make improvements to your new home, make your first mortgage payment, take a vacation, donate to your favorite charity or whatever you think is appropriate to do with the funds.

The program is available for sellers and buyers of residential property such as condos, single family homes or townhomes.
