Received an email today about an upcoming single property auction at the Cristalla Condo in Seattle.

Unit #1807, which is bank-owned, is scheduled for auction on Tuesday, April 19th at 3:15 pm by Williams & Williams, a professional auctioneer. The opening bid is $100,000 for the 18th floor, 2-bedroom, 2-bath, 1,174 square foot southeast corner unit. Expect that it will go for much more.

The unit was most recently listed for sale as a bank-owned/foreclosed property at $554,300 a couple of weeks ago, which was quite a bit less than the $939,200 it fetched back in 2006.

According to the auction website, the auction will occur on-site and on-line with two public preview/inspection dates on April 10th and April 17th from 1 pm to 4 pm. The Cristalla is located at 2033 2nd Avenue.

Still shopping for a condo? The next Belltown open house event on Sunday, March 21st will make it a little simpler to check out over 35 great condo & loft homes. Downtown Seattle’s 2nd Avenue has been receiving quite a bit of attention lately with several condominium, apartment and office towers under construction or planned. The most notable of these include the 1521 Condominium, 1 Hotel & Residences, 2nd & Pike (hotel & condo) and the Liberty Building (office & apartment) developments.

Now, add three more potential projects to the list. On the horizon are 1915 2nd, 1931 2nd and 2015 2nd.

• The 1915 2nd project is a 24-story 171-unit condominium being developed by Intracorp.
• The 1931 2nd proposal is a 40-story hotel and residential tower with 135 hotel rooms and 182 residential units.
• And, proposed for the 2015 2nd parcel is a 40-story 240 unit residential condominium tower.

When it was completed in 2005, Cristalla was the pre-eminent downtown/Belltown address. The 23-story luxury high-rise was built upon the old Crystal Pool Natatorium. In keeping with its history, the Cristalla retained the pool’s Italian Renaissance facade and includes a glass dome that pays homage the terra-cotta dome that once graced the old pool building. Additionally, the building’s contours are meant to mimic a waterfall.
