Epicenter Fitness will host an open house of its facilities for readers and fans of The Seattle Condo Blog on Wednesday, December 17th from 10am to 7pm at the Epicenter of Fitness on 3rd and Pike in downtown Seattle.

This special event features free day passes and special discounts for The Seattle Condo Blog readers on club membership, personalized training packages, dietary supplements, exercise equipment and more. Leona Open House Event

The Leona Condominium on Queen Anne will host an open house event on Saturday 9/13 and Sunday 9/14 from 11 am to 6 pm.

Leona is a mix of the old with new. The development preserves the original 1909 structure along with the addition of a new penthouse level on top as well as townhomes along Ward St.

Bellevue Towers open house event

Bellevue Towers, the Eastside’s most hyped (and likely to be one of the region’s few condo successes) is hosting an open house of three newly completed model homes. The model homes, which range in size from 800 sf to over 1,600 sf, showcase three distinct interior designs with budgets from $20,000 up to $100,000.

When: Sunday, September 14th from 12:30 pm to 4:30pm

Since Bellevue Towers is still under construction, the following event safety rules apply:

Close-toed, flat shoes are required to enter the construction site (i.e. no high heels or sandals will be permitted).
Please meet in the lobby of the Key Bank building to sign your release waiver prior to entering the construction site.

Leona to host VIP open house

The Leona condominium development on the South slope of Queen Anne will open its doors to a “VIP Open House” event this weekend, July 16th and 17th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Lite refreshments will be served.

2nd Avenue Towers Design Review Meeting

On Tuesday, July 22nd, the city’s Design Review Board will hear two proposals for high-rise structures on 2nd Avenue – 1915 2nd Avenue and 1931 2nd Avenue, both have been before the board previously. The meetings will be held at Seattle City Hall with 1915 set for 5:30 pm and 1931 at 7:00 pm.

The 1915 2nd Avenue project, an Intracorp development, has been around for a number of years and had received approval for its original 24-story condominium design. However, with rezoning, they are now proposing a substantially larger 40-story 400′ tower that’ll be just 57′ from the proposed 1931 2nd Avenue tower. Currently, city code requires an 80′ separation, for those parts of a building above 125′ in height, from an existing building. Therefore, 1915 will require a special exception variance for the proposed design. Not surprisingly, Intracorp is now leaving its options open for either condominium or apartment occupancy. One interesting tidbit, the design includes an automated parking garage.

Apparently, without the special exception, the developer and architect seem to lose creative design abilities.

On the other hand, with the Terminal Sales Annex building receiving landmark status, the design for 1931 2nd Avenue now incorporates the facade of the 93 year old building. The 400′ 38-story structure features residential units above a 12-story hotel.
