Yesterday, Escala unveiled Club Cielo, a $30 million private club and the first to open in Seattle in more than two decades. The exclusive 25,000 square foot Club Cielo was selected to provide signature amenities to residents of Escala.

Laconia Development, the Bay area development firm who’s planning to build two condominium buildings in Seattle, is rethinking those plans. Instead, Laconia may proceed with the projects as apartments.

Here’s a quick look at designs of several non-condo housing developments in the Belltown & Denny Triangle area.

Seneca Towers
The DJC reported that Laconia Development (formerly Levin Menzies) plans to start work on Seneca Towers this summer and anticipates completion in the summer of 2010. Seneca Towers, located at 8th & Seneca, will consist of 294 units in two towers.

There’s a new look for the Heron/Pagoda project at 5th Avenue between Virginia and Stewart Streets in downtown. The most current renderings indicate a twin-tower design, which interestingly enough, will be directly across from the Westin Hotel’s twin-towers.
