Hi MrsBoats- I agree: Alki is a wonderful place to spend time. With the beach and the views of the Sound, Olympics and Seattle, there's no place in Seattle more picturesque. All the shops, restaurants and pubs on the main drag are great, too.

Sounds like you had a nice home in Houston. A good friend of mine recently moved to a close-in suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina where he bought a nice 3000SF mid-century home on half an acre for less than $300,000. Location = value and there are a lot more people who want to live on Alki than in a suburb of Raleigh.

The Riptide was a funky place, and the building has been completely renovated. To answer your question: yes, the condos are close to 500SF. They're small condos, but there is nowhere else where you can get the amazing views, the superior finishes and fixtures, parking and storage and live on Alki.

If you'd like to see how the old Riptide has been reborn, you can stop by this weekend. Our on-site sales office is open every Sunday from 11am-3pm.

I love West Seattle. I was born and raised there, and spent a lot of time on Alki. After marrying and moving away from the area, I am quite frankly shocked at where the housing prices have gone. A couple of years ago my husband and I paid $185,000.00 for a 2600sf home in the Houston, Texas area (2-story, brick home with land).

I remember the Riptide Apartments, almost rented there. Are these renovated condos even close to 500 sf? (I realize they are geared toward single people, but I am not sure I ever lived in a condo or home that small as a single person.)

Thank you Christopher,
I live in Honolulu at the moment so can't really stop by. I'll be visiting again this April. Had another question, are the condos studios, 1bd, or 2 bd? If i choose to have a fire place, are there any regulatioins against that? thank you.

Hi Stacy,

Yes, pets are allowed. There are no fireplaces at Lighthouse Point, but the views are spectacular. The monthly home owner assessment is quite low. It's based on the size of each home and it ranges from $143 to $294.

We're open most Sundays from 11am to 3pm, so please stop by if you're on Alki on a Sunday afternoon. If you would like more information, please go to www.BraxtanRE.com and click on "Our Listings", or go to www.LiveAtLighthousePoint.com, or call me at 206.933.3034.

Braxtan - The initial release prices noted in the post was provided to me directly from the on-site sales team back in March and was accurate at the time. It's great to see the developers are adjusting prices for the market.

Concrete is better than wood because it's much more soundproof, and the interiors don't have any exposed concrete. The new high-end condos in Seattle are constructed with concrete.

These homes aren't huge, but they feel more like 500 square feet.

The views are great, the bamboo hardwoods are very nice and the building is a short walk to the beach and Alki's restaurants and shops.
