Townsend Townhomes is a new condominium project on Queen Anne. Unlike many of the new projects around downtown, Townsend is a small community of 14 luxury townhomes on the Queen Anne’s south slope.
Homes feature 2 and 3 bedroom foor plans ranging from 1,463 to 2,322 sq ft on 4-levels of living space. Interior features include:

Homes start from the low $800,000s to over $1,600,000.

There’s several likely factors - price, smaller pool of buyers at that price point, competition from other high end properties (condos & single family houses) and the overall market. In our market, high-end townhomes are rare and I’m not sure people are exactly comfortable with the idea of a $1.5 million townhome.
To a lesser degree I think functional design might play a role as well. The units are 4-levels and lack private elevators.

I would add -
Scary downhill driveway leading to tandam garages.
Skinny footprint.
Very small living/dining/kitchen room for a unit at that price.

i went in and viewed one. It’s too much money for the location, cramped feeling and so on. And you get the sense that the are needlessly marketed up price wise. Nothing else in that area is selling for that much. Maybe builders think everyone is a microsoft or amazon millionaire.
