Equinox Condo – Eastlake

While most of the new developments are centered around the Downtown core, Equinox is placing itself in a rather established neighborhood…Eastlake. Its location will be in the south end at the corner of Eastlake and Fairview Avenues, near the terminus of the upcoming street car. It’s closer to the business area and I-5, but within walking distance to many of the restaurants and services at Lake Union.

The 204-unit Equinox wil be constructed of concrete and steel, unusual for a low-rise building and designed around a central, elevated courtyard. The “park-like” setting will include lush landscaping, a gas fire-pit for social gatherings and a free-standing glass enclosure that will house the concierge and owner’s lounge. Surrounding the courtyard will be a game/billiard room, over-sized tv, an exhibition-styled kitchen and dining room. Equinox is setting itself apart from other projects.

Homes styles include studios, one- and two-bedrooms, and two-level lofts ranging from 530 sf to nearly 1,500 sf. Standard features include custom cabinetry designed exclusively for Equinox, hardwood floors, triple-glazed windows and many units will have terraces.

Prices are expected to range from under $200,000 to over $1,000,000. A design preview is expected to occur this summer. Visit www.EquinoxCondos.com.

Stay away from this dog. I know one of the developers and he says it is being converted to apartments because its only 30% sold and there hasnt been one unit sold in 2008. Stay away. Bad news.

    Hi Tylarjay,

I am one of the lead developers working on the Equinox project and wanted to set the record straight. At this time, we have no intention of converting to apartments. The building is shaping up nicely. We have great views, great amenities, and beautiful finishes. We are set to open in the spring of 2009.

    Hi Suzi,

Thats too bad about no conversions on the horizon. It looks like a great place to rent. Anyways, glad to hear you are optimistic about the market, seeing that you still have about 150 units left to sell in one of the worst markets in 70 years. I must say, I was near the site, and it looks like it is going to be pretty cool…just too expensive. I bet the property would sell once completed. I heard conversions back to apartments arent a bad choice in this market. Expo, Carbon, Moda…a few others have done it. Anyways, best of luck with that project.

Yeah, This place is not the greatest I have checked out. They fail to mention that an elevated I5 is less than 100 feet from the building. Its about level with the great patios on the roof. Have a cup of tea and wave at the gridlock eye level with you. I also checked out the craftsmanship going into the units. Its Ok if you like cabinets imported from China. It really seems to me that they are trying to cut every corner and charge top dollar for it. With the market the way it is please do some checking around before even considering these. I can bet this project will end up being apartments with the slow sales.

Thanks…. seems that I-5, Alaskan Way, inventory and economy are not conducive to a good market for anyone. On the positive side, this blog site is ahead of many locations with advice and evaluations. As a prospective buyer it is much appreciated.

Yup… I wish I said “Mark my words” Apartment living on eastlake.
